Hydraulic works

Water, in all its forms, is a major issue for our society. Its management, whether it is runoff water or drinking water, is crucial and must not be neglected. Ensuring access to good quality water at home requires daily vigilance.

Protection and preservation of -resources

Water management begins with the protection of groundwater. Preserving these natural resources is essential, as is optimizing the networks for producing, purifying, storing and transporting drinking water. ALMADIUS is dedicated to preserving these networks, thus avoiding overexploitation of groundwater and economic losses linked to infrastructure failures. Networks in good condition are not only a guarantee of efficiency, but also a way to avoid wasting drinking water.

Impact of climate change

In the face of climate change, phenomena such as increased rainfall and flood risks must be integrated into the design and sizing of hydraulic structures. ALMADIUS assesses each project taking these new challenges into account. The company stands out for its ability to challenge conventional techniques, sometimes favoring innovative solutions such as the use of “canal streets” instead of buried elements, when possible. This approach allows for efficient drainage of high flows while limiting water heights, thus promoting more peaceful management of water resources and always without losing sight of the fact that the simplest solution is often the best because it allows for the drainage of higher flows with low water heights and with lower-cost infrastructure.

The hydraulic works within the scope of ALMADIUS’s expertise are as follows:

Drinking water: drilling, pumping, purification, storage facilities (reservoirs, water towers), supply and distribution networks.

Surface water: flood control dikes, storm basins, channeled collection networks, canal streets, hydroelectric dams (≤20MW), rainwater infiltration system, etc.

Port works

ALMADIUS is also involved in the dimensioning of port elements, such as bollards, anchors and quay walls. These infrastructures play an essential role in the management of water resources, while guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of port operations. Interventions of this type are becoming more and more recurrent given the dilapidated state of the ports combined with an ever-increasing growth in ship capacities, whether in terms of tonnage or draft.

ALMADIUS is thus positioned as a key player in the management of hydraulic structures. Its ability to innovate while guaranteeing the protection of water resources and the quality of infrastructure makes it a partner of choice to meet water-related challenges in a context of increasing climate change. Sustainable water management, both for consumption and for surface water management, is more than a necessity: it is an imperative to ensure a safe and prosperous future.
