Geological study

Before carrying out the geothermal work, we first carry out capacity analyzes linked to the geology observed at the site and a feasibility study .

Design of the installation in open or closed cycle

In an open circuit, we carry out a modeling of the future operation in order to simulate the heat transfer in the aquifer over the long term and to implement an adapted, optimized and sustainable process. We dimension the pumping and injection flow rate, monitor drilling and pumping and injection tests to determine the depth of the structures, as well as their number and location. We assess environmental influences and draft permit applications .

We carry out a detailed design with all the technical aspects of the project: well sizing, adapted technologies, reinjection system, surface installation, etc.

Site supervision

We monitor the construction of the work and verify that the installation complies with the plans and technical specifications developed. We also carry out operational monitoring with tests to verify the proper functioning of the installation.

What is the difference between closed cycle and open cycle geothermal energy?

Closed cycle geothermal energy consists of circulating a heat transfer fluid in a closed circuit. This liquid captures the heat of the earth by passing through the circuit under the ground. As it rises to the surface, it transfers the calories to a heat pump. This installation then distributes this heat to the building.

Open cycle geothermal energy involves pumping hot groundwater directly via wells. After discharging the calories to the heat pump, the water is reinjected into the aquifer.

How is the geothermal potential of a site assessed?
