Impact of climate change

In the face of climate change, phenomena such as increased rainfall and flood risks must be integrated into the design and sizing of hydraulic structures. ALMADIUS assesses each project taking these new challenges into account. The hydraulic works within the scope of ALMADIUS’s expertise are as follows:

Drinking water: drilling, pumping, purification, storage facilities (reservoirs, water towers), supply and distribution networks.

Surface water: flood control dikes, storm basins, channeled collection networks, canal streets, hydroelectric dams (≤20MW), rainwater infiltration system, etc.

Port works

ALMADIUS is also involved in the dimensioning of port elements, such as bollards, anchors and quay walls. These infrastructures play an essential role in the management of water resources, while guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of port operations. Interventions of this type are becoming more and more recurrent given the dilapidated state of the ports combined with an ever-increasing growth in ship capacities, whether in terms of tonnage or draft.
