Wastewater treatment: an environmental and health challenge<\/h2>\n

Domestic, industrial and commercial activities generate wastewater <\/b>which must be treated before being released into the environment. These polluted waters obviously cannot be dumped thoughtlessly into nature, as these discharges could lead to serious<\/b> consequences for the environment and public health <\/b>.<\/p>\n

To be able to discharge their wastewater in Belgium, companies or public operators must obtain an environmental permit <\/b>or a discharge authorization abroad <\/b>.
